Our client is an M&E Contractor who works on major projects in the areas of Mechanical Services, Air Conditioning, Electrical Services, and Process Engineering for Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Clients.
The successful candidate will hold a mechanical engineering electrical trade qualification and will have experience in large scale electrical projects.
This is an office-based role with the option of hybrid hours reporting into the Operations Director.
You will be responsible for managing and delivering mechanical project tenders and packages from tender request to submission.
Candidates should be familiar with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Project).
Experience in a mechanical/electrical contracting environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying and building up cost estimates by analyzing the materials and labor needed to complete large scale commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Reviewing residential, industrial, and commercial building plans to determine the electrical needs of a project for estimate.
Reviewing supplier costs to determine how much each individual element costs and negotiating with suppliers to bargain the best prices.
Maintaining cost databases and outlining common costs to save time on future estimates.
Understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications.
Ability to meet tender deadlines.
Paying close attention to detail for accuracy.
Solving complex problems efficiently.
Demonstrating sound organizational and time management skills.
Working in a team environment as well as individually.
Checking multiple data sources.
Exhibiting good oral and written communication skills.
Requirements:
3+ years' experience in pricing and estimating mechanical packages.
The successful estimator will be responsible for producing high-quality tender returns and will report directly to the directors.
The ideal candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the estimating team to ensure a high level of quality is achieved on all tender returns.
