About the Role
This role requires a person who has a clear vision with a strong drive and passion to build team success. The suitable candidate will have to be able to offer support to the client Security Manager as well as working alone. They will be the Provincial representative on site, therefore will have to exhibit drive and initiative in helping to build the team's success.
They will need a good understanding of the Provincial's core values and culture and ensure they continue to align with those of the client. The successful candidate should have prior experience in a Supervisory role and have experience managing both operations and teams.
This role carries a large amount of responsibility and requires a strong supervisor with extensive experience. With support from Provincial, this person will be responsible for the planning, delivery and review of all Security services for the client.
Key Responsibilities:
* To assist in managing the day-to-day physical security duties.
* To be fully trained and experienced in all systems and procedures that the security team use on a daily basis
* To ensure the compliance of policies and procedure implementation and maintain records of same and be involved in the recruitment and selection process in order to ensure that the right people are hired and retained.
* To assist in proactively monitoring performance by their involvement in completing Complete Performance Reviews and documenting of same
* Support both Provincial Operations and HR in ensuring strong staff retention
* Assist in the recruitment, training and retention of new staff
* Ensure that all incidents and emergencies are managed, escalated and reported in accordance with client procedures, utilising the correct reporting tools.
* Responsible for site roster, employee holidays, absences and lateness management
* Assist in maintaining Health, Safety & Welfare policy for all rostered staff, in accordance with the clients' policies.
* Carry out regular one to one/ welfare meetings as required
* Assist in the rolling out of new systems and programmes
* Contribute to the monthly and quarterly reports presented to the client
* Prepare and give presentations to both client and Provincial Management as required
* Represent Provincial to the highest standards at all times.
* Help develop and manage security related processes and training.
* Deliver effective training to both existing team members and new hires, while maintaining training records for both the client and Provincial.
* Be able to lead the team in analytical planning, critical review and problem solving.
* Additional tasks, duties and support as directed by Provincial Management or client.
* Be available to respond to calls and incidents that may occur out of hours.
Job Requirements
* 1-2 years experience demonstrated as a leader in a Security team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication ability. Including a courteous and professional telephone manner, with accuracy in relaying information.
* Excellent PC skills to include Microsoft Office package, access control systems, CCTV.
* Ability to deal with people at all levels; relationships will need to be built with the team, contractors and client representatives.
* Demonstrate delegation; manage the workload within the team and ensure requirements are managed.
* Leadership experience including performance management, coaching and development.
* Project management skills: ability to plan both short and longer term and anticipate impact on security requirements.
* Standards driven both from a customer service focus and the ability to put in place and update procedures as required.
* PSA license
* Supervisory qualification
