Job Title
Manufacturing Engineer
Reporting to
Lead Manufacturing Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivers daily technical support to the operations and quality teams for Production Manufacturing and Assembly.
2. Applies knowledge of machining and assembly processes and continuous improvement daily to increase efficiency and reduce waste in all production areas.
3. Uses Problem solving techniques and Lean methodologies to root cause issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
4. Drives continuous improvement projects and is directly responsible for tracking project cost, schedule, targets and achievements.
Competencies:
1. Must have strong oral & written communication skills.
2. Must have strong ability to read, write and understand English.
3. Must be proficient in MS Office package.
4. Initiative, creativity, resourcefulness and ability to work independently are essential.
5. Proficiency in a CAD package such as Solid Works, or equivalent, preferred.
6. Working experience in a precision machining / assembly manufacturing environment.
7. Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred (green belt level an advantage).
8. Organized and adaptable with a flexible approach to a wide variety of Engineering tasks.
9. Commissioning & Validation Experience - experience an advantage.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering / medical device / pharmaceutical industry environment.
2. Minimum of Bachelor's degree (Honors) in Engineering (Level 8).
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Produce regular progress reports on assigned projects.
2. Apply sound engineering and project management principles, in the delivery of the project.
3. Generate work instructions and action change notes while always assessing risk impact.
4. Manage internal / external teams to meet project schedules.
5. Review and approve documentation including specifications and drawings.
6. Provide qualification and troubleshooting support for equipment and processes.
7. Provide solutions through structured Problem-solving techniques.
8. Develop in-depth knowledge of processes as required.
9. Drive, Implement and support internal and external technical change management as and when requested by customers, Suppliers and key stakeholders.
10. As part of a cross functional team liaise with equipment suppliers and perform and manage equipment installations.
11. Monitor process performance (KPI's, metrics) in real time to maximise production output.
12. Contribute to analytical development through design and execution of experiments, data analysis and communication of conclusions through presentations and reports.
13. Coordinate and contribute to the design of Ops, protocols, specifications, and validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
14. Contribute to meeting site targets and goals through everyday tasks.
15. Complete continuous improvement projects based on areas of responsibility.
16. Develop and maintain project timelines and provide updates and feedback to the leadership team.
17. A positive attitude and commitment to Continued Professional Development through on the job and classroom-based learning is desired.
Working Conditions:
1. On-site position.
2. Employee is expected to follow all safety regulations, keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the assigned work area(s).
3. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include and not limited to safety glasses.
4. Must be flexible to support company as required.
