As an Associate Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for partnering with the Sourcing Manager to coordinate the product management of programs including time and action calendars, cost and cost negotiations, and vendor communication. Main priorities will include specific business category/line responsibility, program negotiation, and driving resolution to development and production related issues.
Job Functions
* With the guidance of Manager, you will own the execution of the product development and will serve as main interface between Design, Merchants, and suppliers.
* Time and Action: Negotiate and analyze lead times supplied by vendors to maximize flexibility and speed. Determine early commits and commit buckets and review with cross functional partners.
* Analyze and negotiate costing, product cost breakdowns & MOQ concerns.
* Sourcing Strategy: Have an understanding of your category's current sourcing strategy and where the business may be moving. Assist Management in identifying needs for new suppliers/factories/markets.
* Counter sourcing/development: Assist Management on counter sourcing and development to maintain a competitive edge in cost and lead-times. Trim and Fabric counter development as needed.
* Maintain our Lands’ End Standards of Business Conduct, high quality expectations, on time deliveries as part of vendor management.
* Weekly Omni meetings: Ability to bring up any open issues with Omni team and come to resolve.
* Develop and coach Assistant and interns where applicable. This may include onboarding, individual performance plans and performance management.
* QA Testing: Partner with Manager in reviewing Product testing reports to meet Lands’ End quality standards.
* Attend fittings as needed.
* Liabilities & Debit Notes: Validate, communicate to internal partners and get approval for liability/debit notes.
* Must follow all safe work practices, escalate unsafe conditions and report incidents.
Skills
* Strong analytical skills as well as interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to problem-solve, prioritize and work independently.
* Proven experience in developing long-term relationships and negotiating strategic agreements.
* Strong PC skills with working knowledge of Excel, Word, Business Objective and PLM.
* Knowledge of garment construction and garment production is an asset.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit for long periods of time.
* Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
* Ability to travel as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Apparel/Retail Merchandising, Business, Marketing or related field.
* 2-3 years experience including sourcing or product development.
