Casualty Underwriter wanted for Global Insurance Company-Dublin City
Abrivia are currently recruiting for an experienced Casualty Underwriter to join our client, a Leading Global Insurance Group, based in their Dublin City Centre Office. This role is offered on a hybrid model and reports directly into the Casualty Manager,
The ideal candidate will have strong EL and PL background along with working within a broker facing role. This position is a mix of managing an existing portfolio and looking to grow new business.
Your Role:
1. Underwrite new business and renewals in line with established underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and the local business plan.
2. Assist the Casualty Manager in the development and management of the portfolio, market profile, and producer relationships-this includes regular interaction with brokers, clients, and business development managers.
3. Maintain accurate records and monitor and manage existing policies effectively.
4. Operate within the framework of the company’s ethical and service standards.
5. Contribute to the formulation of underwriting strategies, forecasts, and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability.
6. Ensure quality control through quantitative underwriting reviews and conducting peer reviews.
7. Represent and promote the company to brokers, internal teams, and external clients.
Your Skills:
8. In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of Public Liability and Employer’s Liability coverage, along with a strong grasp of the insurance market and its competitors.
9. Proven experience within a Casualty underwriting environment.
10. Experience in managing relationships with clients and brokers.
11. Results-oriented with the ability to make independent decisions and work proactively.
12. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
13. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
14. Progression towards CIP/ACII qualifications is advantageous, along with a commitment to the continuous development of technical and broader business skills.
