**Job Title:** Social Care Worker
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Care Worker to join our team at Camphill Communities of Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Purpose of Post
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing person-centered support to residents, promoting their independence, and empowering them to live fulfilling lives. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for the welfare and wellbeing of residents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advocacy & Rights
o Respect each person as an equal citizen
o Uphold and respect human, legal, and constitutional rights
o Facilitate choice and decision-making skills
o Develop self-advocacy skills and opportunities for involvement in advocacy
2. Person Centred Support for Living
o Ensure a person-centered approach to service delivery
o Investigate and address individual needs
o Develop and implement person-centered plans
o Coordinate medical appointments and support
3. Management and Leadership
o Ensure adherence to legislative requirements and policies
o Maintain accurate records and reports
o Participate in social and recreational activities
o Lead and manage the house team
Requirements
* Hold a minimum of a Level 7 on the QQI Framework – BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent qualification
* Have 1 year's experience working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities
* Be familiar with current policy and developments in Social Care within disability services

Location: Jerpoint Camphill, Thomastown, County Kilkenny
Duration: Full-time 40 hours – Permanent and part-time
