Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
Location: Hybrid in Wicklow with travel required across Ireland
Please note: EU/Irish driver's license is essential as well as previous working experience in Ireland
Responsibilities:
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
* Develop and implement robust health and safety policies and procedures that align with regulations, industry best practices, and our company's objectives.
* Formulate, introduce, manage, plan, schedule, govern and sustain a health & safety audit and surveillance structure to evaluate conformance to our health and safety policies and procedural framework.
* Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to ensure compliance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish clear safety goals, objectives, and performance metrics and devise strategies to achieve them.
* Work in partnership with the senior management within the businesses to formulate effective action plans to mitigate and address non-conformances and deficiencies.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on all health and safety matters, accident prevention, hazard identification and compliance.
* Participate in setting up and maintaining safety committees.
* Lead comprehensive incident investigations to identify root causes, determine corrective actions and implement preventive measures to minimize the likelihood of recurrence.
* Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organisations, and external partners to stay updated on emerging health and safety standards and best practices.
* Stay abreast of evolving health and safety regulations, trends, and technologies, proactively recommending strategies to enhance our organisation's health and safety practices.
QUALITY
* Develop a continuous improvement culture that addresses the root cause of customer complaints and leads a culture of change to ensure continuous improvement in all aspects of customer complaints management.
* Work functionally across all business departments in demonstrating leadership and support of the Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
* Implement our continuous improvement process, which is used to achieve the goals of reducing all non-conformances, achieving the business goals and key performance indicators.
* Put in place measures to audit, monitor and review QHSE for legislative compliance and standards approval of all standards (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 9001).
Minimum Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar position in Ireland.
* BSc in Health and Safety/Higher Diploma SHWW on the NQF framework.
* Full Clean Driving License.
* Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
* Proficient use of the English language both oral and written.
* Experience in Construction related projects PSDP/PSCS.
* Experience and proven capabilities in developing and implementing health and safety management systems.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Ability to travel.
