Job Summary
The Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant is a permanent role based in Mullingar, with salary negotiable.

Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of quarterly management accounts for construction companies in Ireland and the UK.
* Perform bank reconciliations for Irish and UK construction companies.
* Oversight of the accounts payable process to ensure correct application of VAT and RCT/CIS for subcontractor payments.
* Assist with monitoring and follow-up of accounts receivable, processing supplier payments for UK and Irish construction companies, posting and recording credit card expenses.
* Participate in year-end audits, perform relevant reconciliations to and within the General Ledger, and contribute to Balance Sheet Reviews.
* Assist in accounts preparation, including P&L and Balance Sheet, and participate in the preparation of Statutory Accounts, consulting with external auditors.
* Assist with VAT, Intrastat, and RCT compliance, accounting for group property investments, and service charge implementation/accounting.
* Implement new accounting systems and perform other ad hoc duties assigned by the Head of Finance.

Requirements
* A minimum second-class honors degree (2.1) in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
* Professional accountancy part qualifications, such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ATI/IATI, would be advantageous.
* A minimum of two years recent experience in a similar role.
* Excellent attention to detail is required.
* Experience using SAP Business One is desirable.
* Strong IT skills and proficiency across the MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
* Strong interpersonal skills, good communication, and ability to work in a team environment.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
* Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional environment.
