Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on an ongoing Data Centre project in Dublin.
* As Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering activities on a specific construction project, coordinating technical design with onsite installation through to successful commissioning.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Collate all design documents and drawings.
2. Attend project Handover Meetings.
3. Evaluate value engineering or cost saving opportunities.
4. Prepare co-ordinated drawings covering mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, structural, and architectural elements.
5. Review and understand project design specifications and drawings.
6. Assist in producing weekly progress reports.
7. Compile and assess Technical Submittals.
8. Process requisitions and generate purchase orders.
9. Verify receipt of equipment and materials arriving on site.
10. Seek clarification on queries with the design team through the RFI system.
11. Understand commercial fundamentals, including profit plans and potential variation logs.
12. Liaise with members of the design team, contractors, and project team on technical and commercial issues.
13. Attend technical meetings with the design team, contractors, and project team.
14. Carry out document control, recording, and transmitting information using File Key.
15. Prepare method statements and risk assessments for production activities.
16. Organise and assess sub-contractor work.
17. Carry out Quality Control through inspections and snagging.
18. Populate test packs and track them.
Necessary Requirements:
* 3rd level qualification in Building Services Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Significant project engineering experience (5+ years) with a mechanical contractor.
* Previous record of delivering small to medium-sized mechanical projects.
* Commercial Awareness.
* Capability of walking down mechanical systems to ensure compliance with specification.
* Experience developing technical submittals and completing technical reviews and assessments.
* Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems and procedures.
