Part-Time Payroll Specialist Job Description
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Part-Time Payroll Specialist to join our team on a three-day per week basis. This dynamic role combines payroll expertise with accounts assistance, providing a stimulating and rewarding work environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Process weekly and monthly payroll runs efficiently and accurately
Collaborate closely with department heads to validate payroll data and ensure its accuracy
Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll regulations, including PAYE, PRSI, USC, LPT, and BIK
Respond promptly to employee payroll queries and address their concerns effectively
Partner with the HR department on staff accommodation charges, contract amendments, and onboarding/leaving processes
Prepare detailed payroll cost analyses and journals for review and posting
Manage ROS submissions and payroll-related returns, ensuring timely completion
Generate weekly payroll reports for Directors, highlighting key financial insights
Take ownership of payroll tasks and meet all deadlines, demonstrating exceptional time management skills
**Accounts Assistance:**
Oversee the Accounts Payable function for one of our companies, ensuring seamless payment processing
Process invoices and make daily payments in a timely manner
Reconcile monthly supplier statements, identifying any discrepancies or errors
Audit and reconcile end-of-day balancing for specific operations, maintaining accurate records
Ensure adherence to strict month-end deadlines, prioritizing tasks accordingly
**Requirements:**
IPASS qualification preferred or willingness to pursue it (exam facilitation provided)
3+ years of experience in a busy Irish payroll/accounts environment
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and employment tax, staying up-to-date with regulatory changes
Proficiency in Excel, utilizing advanced formulas and functions
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results-driven solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
Calm under pressure and able to meet deadlines, demonstrating exceptional time management skills
