A&L Goodbody's Tax team is seeking to hire a Tax Strategy Professional to join the team.
The Tax team at A&L Goodbody works with many of the world’s leading corporates and financial institutions providing a broad spectrum of Irish taxation advisory and transactional services.
The role will involve:
* Working with other members of the tax practice advising clients on complex technical issues requiring in depth research and analysis.
* Liaising with the Firm’s Marketing and Business Development team and other fee earners to provide tax input into client-facing initiatives and tools including client briefing notes, pitches, client training, marketing materials, seminar and conference materials.
* Identifying, developing and maintaining the knowledge resources required for the tax practice to deliver high quality services to its clients efficiently (including standard documents, automated documents and technical legal/practical know-how guidance). Coordinating and driving lawyer contribution to standard document development and related knowledge development activity.
* Supporting the existing training programmes within the tax practice, which will include preparing and updating training materials, coordinating delivery and development of training sessions for junior lawyers, delivery of some training sessions, and supporting our partners and lawyers to develop and deliver training.
* Capturing and promoting sharing of expertise, market trends and the practical experience of our lawyers, and developing appropriate best practice.
* Taking part in working groups; attending tax conferences and seminars with a view to keeping up to date on recent Irish and international tax developments.
* Acting as the Firm representative on industry groups focused on development of Ireland’s tax policy and implementation of OECD and EU tax initiatives.
* Preparing technical submissions and responses to public consultations seeking feedback on proposed legislative changes in the areas of Irish and international taxation.
* Ensuring that lawyers are kept aware of legal and market practice developments, providing analysis of the impact of significant developments and how they will affect the tax practice’s business and its clients.
* Working with the professionals in our ALG Solutions team (including Client Technology, Process Design and Delivery, Project Management and IT) to help develop and promote best practice in our processes (both transactional and dispute management) in the adoption and use of appropriate tools and technology.
Requirements
* Experienced tax professional, with previous experience in Irish or international tax gained in a private practice or in-house role.
* Excellent drafting, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Highly organised, proactive and able to co-ordinate and deliver projects.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability and willingness to connect, influence and collaborate across teams and practices.
* Experience of developing knowledge resources and delivering training would be helpful, but not essential.
