Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake a wide range of confectionary items according to established recipes and standards.
* Mix ingredients, shape dough, and monitor baking times and temperatures.
* Decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods to meet customer preferences and seasonal trends.
* Ensure all baked goods are consistently produced to the highest quality standards.
* Conduct regular quality checks and adjust recipes as needed to maintain product consistency.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure food safety and quality.
* Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies.
* Place orders for ingredients and manage stock to ensure continuous product availability.
* Minimise waste by utilising ingredients efficiently and implementing effective storage practices.
Experience & Skills
* Previous experience as a baker or confectioner, preferably in a retail or supermarket bakery setting.
* Proven expertise in baking and decorating a variety of confectionary items.
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety standards.
* Excellent attention to detail and creativity in product presentation.
* Good organizational and time management abilities.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
