The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Senior Manager for Business & Application Architecture, to lead the design and strategy of our business and application architecture while managing application engineering & integration teams, and improving the IT relationship with the wider enterprise. This pivotal role involves contributing as an individual contributor to key areas such as Business and Application Architecture, while also overseeing IT Transformation initiatives such as Customer Services Management (CSM), Application Rationalisation, and Platform Application Strategy.
The successful candidate will work closely with IT & Security Operations teams to maintain an up-to-date and risk-assessed application landscape while developing a forward-looking application strategy and roadmap that supports evolving business requirements. This role requires hands-on experience with business change, application development teams, business architecture (e.g. capability mapping) and IT as a product for the business. Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft technologies, and technical areas such as Active Directory will be highly beneficial.
This is a strategic and leadership role, reporting to the VP Architecture, and will play a key role in delivering on IT Transformation goals and supporting the organization's business objectives.
Responsibilities
Business and Application Architecture
* Define and develop the business and application architecture, supporting the company’s strategic goals and IT Transformation program initiatives.
* Drive application rationalisation to optimize the application landscape and deliver cost savings.
* Contribute to the design and delivery of Customer Services Management (CSM) solutions for key customers.
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive application strategy and roadmap aligned with business needs.
* Collaborate with business change teams to ensure alignment between IT solutions and business requirements.
* Lead capability mapping initiatives to identify opportunities for process and technology improvements.
IT Transformation Program
* Deliver on IT Transformation program objectives, including application rationalisation and cost-saving initiatives.
* Drive the adoption of best practices and industry standards across the application landscape.
* Work closely with IT & Security Operations teams to assess application risks and ensure compliance with security and operational requirements.
* Ensure ServiceNow and other core IT platforms are effectively utilized to deliver agreed business outcomes.
Application Engineering and Integrations
* Manage application engineering and integration teams to deliver seamless and scalable solutions.
* Oversee the development and maintenance of integrations between key business systems.
* Drive continuous improvement across the application landscape to enhance system performance and reliability.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
* Provide leadership and mentorship to the application engineering and architecture teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
* Partner with IT & Security Operations teams to ensure aligned ways of working and shared accountability for the application landscape.
* Build strong relationships with business departments to ensure IT solutions are aligned with strategic business objectives.
Metrics and Reporting
* Track and report on the performance of the application landscape, including risks, costs, and business outcomes.
* Provide regular updates to senior IT leadership on IT Transformation program progress and application strategy execution.
Requirements
* Proven experience in Business and Application Architecture.
* Strong understanding of application engineering, system integration, and IT transformation initiatives.
* Experience with business architecture methodologies, including capability mapping.
* Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and Microsoft technologies.
* Familiarity with Active Directory and other technical platforms relevant to IT infrastructure.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver IT solutions that align with business goals and objectives.
* Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and manage application risks.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across IT and business teams.
* Experience with large-scale IT Transformation programs. Familiarity with ITIL practices and certifications.
* Experience with automation tools to streamline application processes.
* Relevant certifications in ServiceNow, Microsoft, or enterprise architecture frameworks.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable IT strategies.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
* Collaborative and team-oriented leader with a passion for driving continuous improvement.
