OverviewSenior Controls Systems Engineers are responsible for designing and leading building automation projects. Day to day tasks will be determined by the specific requirements of each project.ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Sales Support (20%)Provide technical guidance and act as a part of the leadership team for a project team of 25 engineersIdentify and assign tasks within the project teamAssist with change order generation by estimating hardware costs and the engineering effort required for changes in project scopeMaintain relationships with existing customersInstrumentation & Electrical Design (20%)Create instrument lists by examining P&ID drawingsEvaluate instrumentation (temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meter, valve actuators, etc…) and select devices appropriate for the projectEvaluate and select controls hardware appropriate for the projectCompile submittal documentation for controls and instrument hardwareCreate panel layouts and electrical schematics for controls enclosuresProcure project hardwareProvide technical support for panel fabrication techniciansInspect completed control enclosuresSystem Design and Configuration (30%)Lead customer design review meetingsConfigure user interface and HMI screensConfigure DDC, PLC and/or DCS control algorithmsExecute internal functional and quality control testingDraft system documentationAssist is customer demonstrations and acceptance testingOnsite System Startup (30%)Install project software and configuration onto site systemsParticipate in point to point loop checks for all instrumentationPerform software calibration and tuningConduct functional tests of all systemsTroubleshoot installation discrepanciesSupport additional customer testingProgram field modifications as requiredTrain customer representatives on operations and maintenance of systemQualificationsTechnical Experience:Bachelors Degree in a technical field or related Technical Degree8+ years of experience in related field/industryControls Experience in at least one of the following:Rockwell: FactoryTalk Suite, RS Logix/Studio 5000, familiarity with PlantPAx DCSAveva System PlatformInductive Ignition PerspectiveDistech: Experience with BACnet and LON Distech controllers, Eclypse ControllersOther useful technologies include:Johnson Controls: Facility Explorer or Metasys controllersTridium: Niagara N4SQLScripting languages (VBA, Python, etc.)Knowledge of Kepware OPC server, ThinManager, VMware is preferred.HVAC Experience/Knowledge:Basic understanding of HVAC systems in large building automation systems.Understanding of sequence of operations and P&IDs for HVAC and plant utilities.Experience with functional testing, including the ability to create, maintain, and execute test plans.Experience with specifying instrumentation and control valves for HVAC systems
