THE ROLE
Our new Dublin based Health and Safety Manager will get the opportunity to work on a very high profile transportation programme as part of a highly motivated professional multidisciplinary team working on one of the most important infrastructure projects in Europe.
You will be responsible for ensuring the project is designed and constructed so that the H&S risk to all persons involved are eliminated or reduced as much as possible, taking into account the live urban environment.
The Health and Safety Manager will support the Design and Technical Services Lead in leading the Health and Safety sub-functional area, assuming responsibility for the performance management of personnel and leading the continuous drive towards a high-performance culture.
You will develop and maintain a detailed resourcing plan and will oversee the day-to-day activities of the CP personnel deployed, ensuring they are carrying out their relevant tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
Working closely with the National Transport Authority, you will assist them to comply with their duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
Here's what you'll need
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* The successful Health and Safety Manager should possess significant experience of carrying out health and safety activities across the project lifecycle through to completion on high value road and / or infrastructure projects in a live urban environment or projects of a similar scale and complexity.
* You will ensure that all works will be carried out in compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005; Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 to 2020, and all other current applicable Regulations, Codes of Practice and Guidance.
* Bachelor or Masters Degree in a construction-related subject (or equivalent).
DESIRABLE SKILLS
* Experience of working with Irish Government Regulation governing construction health and safety
* Driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards
* The design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural, engineering or construction sectors
* Developing and maintaining health and safety management Systems, Safe T Cert, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001;
* Managing high-performing staff / teams including carrying out performance management, undertaking resource planning and embedding a focus on continuous improvement and best-practice
* NEBOSH, Safepass and Chartered member of IOSH or equivalent are all desirable
