About the job:At Huawei Cloud, we're revolutionising the way cloud systems operate. We're seeking a Senior Architect to join our cutting-edge AIOps team in Dublin. In this role, you'll spearhead the research and development of advanced solutions for observability, incident response, system optimisation, and fault prediction for planet-scale cloud infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in building an AI platform that pushes the boundaries of autonomous cloud operations.The Cloud Reliability Lab at the Huawei Ireland Research Centre has a mission to bring world-class reliability to Huawei Cloud by solving cross-functional problems that span Hardware, Software, Networking, Monitoring and Operations. We have teams working in all these areas with a diverse mix of people including industry veterans, academic researchers, and Ph.D. student interns. In your role, you will collaborate with the local research teams, other European research centers, and other engineering teams spread across the globe.Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead the long-term technical roadmap for Huawei Cloud's management plane systems. Apply cutting-edge AI techniques to improve detection, diagnosis, optimisation and prediction capabilities.
Product Management: Drive Cloud AIOps product strategy and feature prioritisation with the goal of customer adoption. Transition R&D breakthroughs into shippable products.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead local Dublin team and build partnerships across Applied Research and Product teams. Manage relationships with key partners in Huawei's HQ.
Problem Solving & Innovation: Leverage expert knowledge in reliability/performance of cloud systems to solve problems at scale. Lead the design and architecture of AIOps systems for Huawei Cloud.
Requirements:
PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics or similar field.
10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or adjacent domains, with at least 5 years focused on cloud infra architecture.
Experience in applying cutting-edge analytics and optimisation techniques to large-scale distributed systems gained at a public cloud provider.
Hands-on technical contributions in areas such as anomaly detection, fault localisation, root cause analysis, observability data insight generation etc.
Exceptional communication skills with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.
Optional: Publications in academic journals, conference papers, or patents.
