Founded in 1951, SYNU has approximately 25,000 students and 1,645 full time lecturing staff across 9 disciplines: philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, management, and art.Contract Type: Fixed Term: mid-February 2025 to mid-June 2025. Note dates are approximate until timetables have been finalised. Location: Shenyang Normal University, Shenyang, China. Accommodation will be provided on-campus at Shenyang Normal University for the duration of the contract. Key Responsibilities:Develop a Module and Assessment Guide for the modules in question with a structured, explicit teaching plan to include delivery and formative assessment that aligns with the SYNU module.Prepare teaching content and materials, including interactive, learning activities and real world learning, formative assessments and industry-aligned skills development.Upload and regularly update teaching, learning and assessment content for modules on the SYNU Learning Management System (LMS) as per DBS guidelines and SYNU requirements. Respond to module-related student queries in a timely manner and ensure timely feedback to students on CAs as per DBS guidelines. Write exam papers for first sitting and all repeat examinations and solutions, associated with the modules.Grade assessments and upload marks to SYNU LMS.Prepare Exam Packs for submission to External Examiners. Ensure compliance with all requirements for delivery of module content and adherence to academic standards and regulationsUndertake other activities associated with the delivery of teaching at SYNU.Build the academic relationship with key stakeholders at SYNU.Attend weekly team meetings with the Academic Director for Computing Programmes and the Content Production and Relationship Manager.Person Specification:Essential:Qualified to a minimum of a Level 9 Postgraduate Diploma or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with relevant industry experience.Have excellent communication skills with a passion for helping students reach their potential.Desirable: 2-3 years teaching experience and assessment design.Experience with undergraduate project (and/or Masters dissertation) supervision.Experience in creating and delivering online content.The job description is a guide to the work the post holder will initially be required to undertake.
