This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Life Sciences function. This position will report to the Plant Manager.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, including but not limited to pumps, compressors, valves, reactor systems, HVAC systems, and utilities.Conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and diagnose mechanical problems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of equipment.Execute preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to uphold equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.Document maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and maintenance reports, to maintain accurate records and track equipment performance.Participate in safety programs and adhere to established safety protocols to promote a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.Willingness to undergo additional training and certification as necessary.Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safetyImprove the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with othersIn order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:Time served in an engineering technical degree or diploma.Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a mechanical maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in the medical, pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and piping systems, as well as their operation and maintenance requirements.Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing repairs using hand and power tools.Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and techniques to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs to facilitate equipment maintenance and repairs.Excellent written and oral communication skills, being fluent in English.Proficient use of Microsoft Office software including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook systems.Ability to work accurately with high levels of attention to detail and to work well, both, independently and as part of a team.Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all timesThe ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and differentThe following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:Direct approach with knowledge of Maximo & experience of pumps, motors & mechanical systems.In more than 100 countries, the people of Ashland LLC.
