This is a great opportunity for a HR Generalist or Senior HR Generalist to join a global engineering and manufacturing business within a busy HR team. The HR Generalist will support the HR Manager in the European Customer Centre in providing a pro-active, flexible, high quality, comprehensive and responsive HR service to all employees based in Ireland.
This opportunity would suit a HR professional who is ready to step up into a busy and demanding role, who has worked in a manufacturing or an engineering environment preferably. The candidate will be confident in dealing with conflict, able to manage difficult conversations, be very proactive, have strong project management or organisation skills, is able to manage many competing priorities, and not phased by working in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities cover the full range of HR generalist responsibilities and with a focus on HR Systems & Reporting, Payroll, Recruitment, Employee Engagement & Retention Activities and Employee Relations.
* HR Systems, Data & Reporting: maintain employee data in HR/Payroll Systems and employee files, be responsible for data accuracy and play an active role in introducing new global systems, processes and other systems. Support the critical cyclical HR processes eg. Payroll deadlines, Salary Review, Bonus Cycle, PPDR submission, by collating documents and data, assisting managers with the process and ensuring that all relevant paperwork is produced. Participate in internal and external audits of the HR function as required.
* Payroll: Ensure pay data is collated and input accurately ready for submission each month. Liaise with Approvers and payroll provider to ensure that payments are made on time and correctly.
* Onboarding and Offboarding: Support onboarding and offboarding activity including Company Inductions and Orientation to ensure that colleagues have a positive experience throughout their employment. Manage and maintain records, conduct exit interviews and analyse data as required.
* Employee Relations: Support managers and employees to manage and resolve employee relations concerns when they occur, provide advice and guidance on HR policies and escalate to the HR Manager where necessary. Remain up to date and adhere with local employment law and legislation.
* Reward and Recognition/Employee Engagement: Support the implementation of reward and recognition programs. Contribute to the development of a culture that values and celebrates individual and team achievements, promoting employee engagement and retention. Collaborate with various departments to design and execute engagement activities and events that foster team spirit, collaboration, and a sense of belonging.
* Inclusion & Diversity and Wellbeing: Champion I&D and Health & Wellbeing in the workplace by promoting site events and ensuring a programme of activities is in place across the area of responsibility.
* Policies and Procedures: Support the introduction, updating and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure they support the organisational culture, encourage best practice, and adhere to local legislation. Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes, and procedures.
* Recruitment: Responsible for supporting managers through the recruitment process by following the agreed approval process, using recruitment agencies as required, maintaining an understanding of the local market, providing support to local managers on the use of the hiring systems, assisting with interviews, preparing and issuing offer packages and ensuring that all pre-employment checks are completed.
* Learning and Development: Collaborate with the Regional Training Specialists to ensure that Line Managers and employees are appropriately supported in determining L&D requirements.
* Metrics and Analytics: Track, measure and analyse data including data related to engagement surveys, inclusion and diversity, wellbeing, onboarding and offboarding to provide data driven insights and to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.
* Third Party management: Engage with third party vendors such as health insurers, brokers, pension provider and agencies. Ensure accurate reporting information is provided for renewal. Ensure invoices received are accurate and paid on time.
Skills Required
* A Level or equivalent standard of education (degree desirable)
* Part qualified CIPD desirable although not essential
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR, with strong experience in an administrative environment including resourcing.
* Experience of HRIS systems and LinkedIn recruiter experience is desirable.
* Strong PC skills particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
* Experience of and comfortable with working in a continuously changing and evolving environment.
* Previous experience in administering payroll is required
* Highly Numerate and computer literate.
* Fluent in English
* Strong attention to detail
* Able to handle heavy workloads, priorities own work and deal with confidential and sensitive information
* A flexible approach, able to cope with a constantly changing environment and priorities
* Ability to work independently, whilst also being able to judge when additional support is required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to listen and communicate carefully and with empathy – emotional intelligence.
* Team player who is keen to work closely with the wider HR team
