Opportunity for Electrical Design Manager to join team based in Kilkenny responsible for a multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery team nationwide. Will be responsible for electrical design outputs to support ongoing contracts and coordinating activities across the team of electrical design engineers.
An important aspect will be focusing on delivering work efficiently and effectively, while maintaining and developing electrical design standards within the company.
The role will require strong technical skills and communication and interaction with managers, engineers, internal and external team members, clients and suppliers.

Role and responsibilities:
* Develop new electrical designs and innovative concepts to meet project requirements
* Assess and interpret client specifications to ensure alignment with project goals
* Prepare detailed electrical technical designs and submissions for approval
* Design systems for electrical distribution, general services, lighting, fire alarms etc.
* Design electrical instrumentation systems to meet operational needs
* Assist in the development and structuring of system architecture for projects
* Evaluate and select sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure quality and project success
* Specify equipment requirements in collaboration with the purchasing department
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, contracts, control & automation) to ensure project efficiency and cohesion
* Delegation of workload across the team ensuring resources are appropriately applied to meet project requirements
* Apply knowledge of automation hardware, architecture and systems to ensure integrated, efficient, and scalable solutions
* Manage project documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan
* Occasionally travel to site to support site activities as required
Requirements:
* Industry Knowledge: Experience in the water and wastewater treatment sector is highly desirable.
* Education: Accredited NFQ Level 8 Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
* Experience: 7+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong track record of success.
* Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of electrical design standards and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex technical challenges. Knowledge of automation and control systems.
* Customer-Centric: Focused on delivering exceptional service to clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
