The Role
As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards. This includes weekly and periodic tasks. You must use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH).
You will also need to ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents, and use cleaning equipment only after correct training is given. Report immediately any faulty equipment, mark it as such, and do not use it.
In addition, you will need to ensure that safety signage is used appropriately at all times, such as wet floor signs and warning customers where possible.
The cleaning stores must be kept clean and tidy, and equipment must be stored correctly and safely at all times.
The Person
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, works independently, and on their own initiative to ensure set tasks are completed. They should be flexible with a positive, can-do attitude, good time-management skills, and attention to detail in all aspects of the work.
The ideal candidate will lead by example, live our values, be enthusiastic about our customer service and reputation, and have basic statutory training for the role.
This includes basic reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
