The Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting the migration of data between systems, ensuring that data is accurately migrated and reconciled. The role involves working closely with business analysts, data migration teams, and configuration teams to ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment with business goals during the migration process.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Data Assessment & Analysis
* Perform data profiling and assessment on source and target systems.
* Analyse the structure, quality, and completeness of data in legacy systems, following feedback from migration runs.
* Perform data analysis and modelling to support decision-making.
* Support the identification and understanding of data cleansing requirements to ensure data quality in the target system.
Data Validation & Testing
* Develop processes to test the accuracy of data mapping between source and target systems.
* Conduct thorough data validation and reconciliation to ensure data integrity post-migration.
* Document and report discrepancies and support troubleshooting during the testing phase.
Data Migration Reporting
* Generate reports on the progress and quality of data migration, including data quality metrics and testing results.
* Communicate findings, issues, and risks to relevant stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement.
* Support the creation of post-migration reconciliation reports, including financial reconciliation. This requires collaboration with programme teams, data teams, and finance teams.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
* Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and migration needs.
* Work closely with supplier technical teams to understand the migration process and output from test migrations.
Data Governance & Best Practices
* Assist in implementing data governance and security measures during the migration process.
* Promote best practices for data management, including consistency, quality, and compliance with organisational standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Business Knowledge
* Knowledge of data migration processes, techniques, and tools.
* Understanding of organisational standards for data quality and governance.
* Experience in managing data requirements for large-scale transformation projects.
Essential Functional / Technical Skills
1. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets.
2. Familiarity with billing system data or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in SQL, data profiling, and querying databases.
4. Strong understanding of data models, schema design, and relational databases.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder management.
6. Knowledge of modern data tools such as Azure Databricks and Power BI.
