Our client is now seeking to hire an experienced professional with substantial skills in people management and operational management, as well as Health & Safety management of hospitality / visitor attraction sites.
The position of Head of Operations is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in playing a significant role within hospitality / visitor attraction sites across the mid-west of Ireland. The successful applicant will work closely with the management within visitor attractions, and you will be responsible for providing general senior management in a range of areas to all the sites and head up the operations of the iconic sites. Strategic and operational management input will be required in all areas. The position will head the operations department, including H&S and facilities, and will be responsible for:
1. The Operational and Health & Safety aspects of the visitor experiences operation.
2. Ensuring that the key objectives of the organisation are met by managing workloads that maximise the use of resources.
3. Managing the Operations Management Team
4. Ensuring a world-class visitor experience is provided and helping to embed a culture of a great place to work through trust and respect.
The main duties include;
5. Proven track record in operational / H & S management with at least 3 years of management experience
6. Candidates will ideally have a Diploma / Degree in a similar or related discipline in tourism / visitor management. H & S qualification is an advantage.
7. Experience in workforce management systems packages
8. Experience in facilities management, maintenance and operation
9. Good knowledge of a Building Management System
10. Good knowledge of a Health & Safety System
11. Coordination of all operational activity at all Visitor Attraction sites to ensure customers receive a world-class visitor experience
12. Communicates expectations & implements all Standard Operating Procedures and Polices to all staff & Business Unit Managers on site
13. Compliance with legislative standards, policy procedures, handbook and company standards & expectations of the company
14. Approving rostering of all staff on a monthly basis to ensure adequate
15. Supervision of the daily roster to ensure efficiency of staffing and accountability for work tasks
16. Health & Safety onsite at the visitor attraction sites of employees and visitors
17. Dealing with scheduled service licencing, requests, amendments and breach to licence.
18. Supervision and performance management of Operational Duty Managers and Business Unit Managers
19. Maintenance of site standards and overall facility management as a World Class Visitor Experience
20. Onsite Signage and advanced digital signage
21. Customer Complaints handling
22. Dealing with different types of crisis management, including weather, fire evacuation etc.
23. Researches, recommends, and introduces methods, products and services to improve the service delivery system
24. Participate in outreach activities
Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes
25. Proven track record in operational / H & S management with at least 3 years of management experience
26. Candidates will ideally have a Diploma / Degree in a similar or related discipline in tourism / visitor management. H & S qualification an advantage
27. Experience in workforce management systems packages
28. Flexibility and a strong problem-solving approach to issues
29. Experience of managing people in a small to medium-sized enterprise
30. Ability to demonstrate a high level of teamwork & motivation skills
31. Proven organisational skills & experience of multitasking

Qualifications
33. Third level qualification in hospitality management, business, or related discipline.
34. Have a minimum of 3 years satisfactory experience in an operational management role with demonstrable experience.
35. The successful candidate is required to have a current full class B drivers’ licence and access to own car.
Hours of Work - 40 hours per week
Annual Leave - 25 days
