The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of the safety management culture for Enva. This role can be based in Portlaoise or Greenogue with travel required to other sites. This role is an opportunity for an experienced safety professional to develop & implement a Safety programme in a dynamic, multi-site environment and to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Key Responsibilities Ensure that operational activities are compliant with relevant legal and good practice requirements. Develop, implement and maintain the safety management systems (e.g. OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001) in accordance with the standards. In conjunction with this work with management other stakeholders to ensure the maintenance of other management systems and accreditations integral to the organisation. Carry out appropriate risk assessments for activities and where necessary identify possible alternative methods of assessment to effectively assess the level of risk. In addition to this assist the organisation in prioritising risk to ensure that control measures are appropriate to the risk and scale of operation. Ensure that the appropriate and timely level of incident and accident investigation is conducted throughout the activities for all incidents and accidents which occur. Develop and build relationships across the organisation to foster a positive safety culture while supporting productivity and success. You are required to develop, review and interpret monitoring data which will drive change and improvements in safety performance. Evaluate methods and or ways of working to support the continual evolution of safety practises in terms of business integration, efficiency and or performance. Building of relationships across all stake holders within the business e.g. line managers/supervisors/safety representatives etc. in order to influence and impact on safety practises. Work with Group HSE & local management to set out clear goals and plans for your business which will deliver safer practises and better performance. The candidate shall be an ambassador for safety and will be required to build an indirect leadership style among peers and other relevant stake holders so that a strong safety leadership is felt. Manage change across the business whether this is change due to external factors e.g. change in legal requirements or internal needs Operate and maintain a robust system of checks, inspections and audits which provide verification of the effectiveness of operational controls. Monitoring of results and ensuring quality and delivery are achieved as planned. To provide opportunity for continuous improvement in service delivery across the business. The ability to develop effective two-way communications to drive home Key HSE actions. Interact with personnel at all levels of the organisation in a constructive, positive manner, which includes being a trusted advisor and listener. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Degree in Health and Safety / Environmental or equivalent essential. The successful candidate will have a some years of managerial experience with responsibility for Safety & Compliance in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment. High level of IT literacy and competence, in particular understanding application work flows and data systems. An energetic, progressive, can do attitude with proven capabilities. Experience in or a good knowledge of Health, Safety Environmental and Quality management systems. Strong report (and procedure) writing skills; You must have a flexible approach and attitude to your work with the ability to prioritise your workload and be able to respond to changing situations. Excellent communicator and an ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organisation.
