Location: BEO Day Programs are innovative and progressive programmes which focus on supporting adults living in Galway City to be independent and to work towards their own goals and achievements.
They are supported to access education, training, voluntary roles and work experiences, with the view to gain employment if desired.
The Programmes are aimed at those who want a more flexible and person centred service that works towards developing their strengths and passions.
BEO Day Programs provide an opportunity to build community links, avail of opportunities to develop friendships and relationships and to encourage personal development.
People are empowered to take a lead in their own future planning and given the tools and skills to work towards an independent life.
This includes managing their own finances, employment and learning to run their own home if they choose.

The Role: The Senior Instructor/Supervisor will report to the Team Leader, and will fulfil a key worker role for individuals identified.

The Senior Instructor/Supervisor will also be expected to stand in for the Team Leader in their absence, and be capable of assuming the role of senior person on duty when required, offering a point of contact, advice and support for the wider BEO Services if necessary.
The successful candidate will initially be assigned to work within a specific BEO Day Service; however this work location may change depending on service needs.
Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/ Service Coordinator/Area Manager
Qualifications/Experience: ?Candidates require a level 7 qualification relevant to the health sector.
?Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in day services designing and implementing programmes to enable them to carry out successfully the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability.
?Experience in establishing links with the community and local enterprises is essential.
?Experience in education, day services or creative arts is an advantage
?Previous experience of shift leadership is highly desirable
?A full clean manual Irish Driver's Licence is essential.
?Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Working Hours: 75 hours a fortnight based on a 5-day week duty roster.
The normal working hours will be Monday – Friday but may involve weekend work if required to meet the needs of the people we support or Personal Outcomes.
Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm over 7 days to meet the requirements of the programme.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
The successful candidate will, on occasion, be required to demonstrate flexibility in their hours of work to support people with social events or short breaks.
Agreed allowances are paid in respect of hours of work as appropriate.
Annual Leave: 22 days per annum.
Remuneration: Department of Health Workshop Supervisor/Instructor Senior salary scale (01/10/ €39,120 x 8 increments - €49,778 (Maximum) per annum.
LSI1 €51,395 is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
LSI2 €53,101 is payable after a further 3 years.
Tenure: This position is Permanent full-time and pensionable.
Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The
employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
