Job description:
Joining our team within Virgin Media Ireland (Commercial division), your role will have responsibility for Entertainment Content management from a commercial perspective and the delivery of all content on Virgin media TV products leveraging and managing a portfolio of content service providers.
Specific Duties & Tasks:
1. Be a key member of a cross-functional team supporting the In-Life Commercial Senior Manager and Director of Product & Base Management in content partner management and negotiations.
2. Manage day to day communications with all entertainment content service providers.
3. Understand and proactively manage and track existing content contracts for both renewals and renegotiations.
4. Work with legal when reviewing content contracts in relation to the commercial elements and content rights.
5. Support procurement prior to renegotiations, by defining our position through researching and collating data both from internal reporting, key stakeholders and from a commercial perspective providing a clear renegotiation position.
6. Liaise with finance to understand the financials in relation to all contracts.
7. Monitor budget and support the accounts team to ensure accounts reconcile, purchase orders and invoices are processed as per contracts, and reporting and subscriber queries managed correctly.
8. Point of contact and owner of all content related regulatory rights.
9. Interpret technical roadmap for all content related channel changes, updates and integrations. Point of contact for technical solutions on all content related matters.
10. Support Senior management to determine Strategic Content direction.
11. Understand the TV product portfolio and Contents role within same.
12. Identify content opportunities to support the proposition and marketing team.
13. Liaise with Central Liberty Global Entertainment on Management Information requests and commercial research activities.
14. Partner with Virgin Media Television stakeholders to maximise use of cable content on the linear TV platform.
Skills & Expertise:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business or technology field.
2. 3 years + experience ideally in a commercial field within telecommunications, tech, media/broadcasting industries.
3. Expertise in the areas of bringing new products or programs to market is highly desirable.
4. Expertise in managing commercial contracts and liaising with external vendors desirable.
5. Highly competent using MS applications such as MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
6. Be commercial astute and legally competent.
7. Strong commercial and product acumen & a customer champion by nature.
