Job Description
Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Senior R&D Electrical & Electronic Engineer to complement their existing broad-range of engineering competencies.
The successful applicant will be a key member of a newly established and expanding R&D team, leading, guiding, and mentoring colleagues in developing and supporting next-generation medical diagnostic analysers.
This role is suited for an ambitious senior-level professional looking for the next challenge in their career as a Senior R&D Electrical & Electronic Engineer.
The applicant must have a proven track record in designing and developing electrical and electronic solutions within complex instruments/analysers.
Integration of sensors, power devices, transducers, motion control (motors, encoders), thermoelectric devices, and microcontrollers into a real-time system is essential.
Experience in firmware development and PCB design is advantageous. The ability to work collaboratively and systematically with other engineering functions is crucial.
The successful candidate will be part of a highly innovative multidisciplinary R&D network working on complex problems to serve the needs of laboratories of any size – today and tomorrow.
Critical Skills and Personality
* Proven experience in designing high-quality electrical/electronic solutions, preferably in a regulated environment.
* Familiarity with computer operating systems, hardware, and software.
* PCB design experience, including component selection and understanding of design concepts.
* Ability to utilise various design packages (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Eagle, Altium, Proteus, OrCAD).
* Design of analog and digital circuits from transducer to microcontroller input, considering cabling, connectors, signal strength, and noise/interference.
* Firmware development knowledge and ability to modify current Firmware.
* Microcontroller knowledge (e.g., ARM Cortex) and software programming skills (C, C++).
* Understanding of power electronics, cabling routing, and integration into complex instruments.
* Control systems engineering knowledge, including tuning motors and PID control.
* Familiarity with EMC and methods to eliminate electronic interference.
* Experience with Low Voltage & Machinery Directives and other relevant standards.
* Ability to translate design input requirements into detailed functional specifications and designs.
* Problem-solving skills with a structured analytical approach.
* Highly motivated individual eager to develop and deliver solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders.
