Job Summary
IPPOSI is seeking an inspiring CEO with strong relationship building skills to lead our mission of patient-centred healthcare. This leadership role involves driving strategic initiatives, expanding partnerships, securing funding, and ensuring patient voices are central in health policy and innovation.
The CEO will guide the Executive team, implement long-term strategies, and ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation, while promoting IPPOSI’s values in the health sector and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Strategic Direction: In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop and implement IPPOSI’s long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission. Lead the executive team to achieve strategic goals, fostering a collaborative and positive organisational culture.
2. Fundraising and Financial Sustainability: Oversee diverse revenue streams (including grants, partnerships, membership income and revenue generating activities). Cultivate relationships with major stakeholders including government bodies, corporate partners, and other funding organisations. Ensure financial accountability, transparency, and effective use of resources.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as IPPOSI's spokesperson, consolidating and growing strong and productive relationships with patients, policymakers, and health sector academics and leaders.
4. Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day activities, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and performance metrics.
5. Board Relations and Governance: Support the Board in governance and risk management, preparing and presenting regular reports on financial performance, operational progress, the risk environment and key challenges.
6. Advocacy and Impact: Champion IPPOSI’s mission publicly and advocate for impactful change.
Skills and Experience
1. 5+ years in senior leadership (preferably in non-profit, charity, public policy or health sector).
2. A strong background in at least two of the following areas: patient advocacy; healthcare innovation; health research; and/or policy development in Ireland and/or the EU.
3. Experience in financial management, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement in non-profit or charity sector.
4. Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, inspire and develop others.
5. Proven ability to generate income through multiple funding streams, with a track record of success.
6. Exceptional communication skills with media and public relations experience.
7. Experience of managing and delivering workstreams as part of large, multiannual, multistakeholder research projects.
8. Experience of formal report writing including annual reports and grant reports for both national and EU level funders.
9. Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree in relevant field desirable (e.g., Non-profit Management, Business Administration, Social Impact).
