Job Description
The Information Technology Security Officer will work alongside the Head of IT to develop and implement a robust IT vision, strategy, and action plan for the Northern Ireland Assembly. This includes identifying future challenges in the IT landscape and developing relevant mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and lead technical information security programs, including policies, standards, and guidelines to protect information assets.
* Provide professional expertise and advice on technical information security to senior managers and staff.
* Lead and define security best practices and align them with organisational goals and compliance requirements.
* Implement technical security controls and ensure that all team members adhere to them.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
* Lead IS Office teams to conduct root-cause analyses of incidents and develop plans to prevent recurrence.
* Lead and implement solutions to security challenges and adapt quickly and professionally to new threats.
* Manage and maintain detailed records of compliance efforts and conduct annual security assessments.
* Foster a security conscious culture by leading and conducting training needs analysis relating to cyber security.
Requirements:
* At least a Bachelor's Degree in Computing or other discipline relevant to Information Systems / Information Technology, Cyber Security or Network Administration.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in areas such as cloud environments, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, security information & event management tools, data loss prevention, endpoint management, networking, protocols, and vulnerability management.
* Working knowledge/experience of information security management systems (ISMS).
* Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
