Our client,
a public sector body, are recruiting Energy Engineers to join their Capital and Estates department in South Dublin.
The post holder will have full accountability for Climate Action and Sustainability services within the assigned region. Collaborating closely with the local Energy Officer, the Regional Sustainability Officer will be responsible for coordinating with staff and Green Teams, managing allocated budgets, executing projects, and overseeing all aspects of estate management within the region, with a focus on Climate Action and Sustainability, including green environments, water conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable infrastructure.
This is an initial 1-year contract role which offers great scope for extension and future permanency.

Responsibilities
5. Lead Climate Action and Sustainability initiatives within the designated region, focusing on decarbonization, water conservation, waste reduction, and enhancing green environments.
6. Collaborate with staff and "Green Teams" to implement and promote sustainable practices across facilities, including hospitals, community health centers, and primary care centers.
7. Manage Budgets and Projects: Oversee regional sustainability budgets, handle public procurement processes, and ensure the delivery of sustainability projects.
8. Act as a Key Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including community healthcare organizations and regional partners.
9. Provide Technical Support for sustainability-related maintenance across hospitals and community services.
10. Ensure Compliance with sustainability policies, supporting managers and teams in meeting climate action objectives.
Requirements
Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in (STEM) Engineering, Science, or Technology accredited by the relevant Professional Institute (Engineers Ireland etc.)
OR
Full Membership of the relevant professional association: i.e. Engineers Ireland
AND
Have had at least 3 years' satisfactory & relevant experience in planning, design, project management or construction of buildings or delivering Climate action and Sustainability in buildings/public sector.
