Mc Shortall Childcare Ltd, t/a TLC Unlimited is a busy creche and preschool, catering to the needs of children form 0-5 years. We are situated in the historic village of Blarney in Cork and have been part of that community for 17 years.
We are seeking to employ a Childcare Centre Manager in preparation for September 2024.
Childcare managers play a vital role in creating a safe, nuturing and educational environment for young children and your work contributes significantly to the well being of families and communities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Supervising Children and Staff
1. Taking day to day responsibility for both children and staff
2. Ensuring high standards of care at the service
Curriculum Development
3. Overseeing the development of curricula in co-operation with room leaders and in line with Aistear and Síolta
4. Overseeing the implantation of short, medium and long term activities and learning opportunities
Health and Safety
5. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and safety
6. Adhering to child protection policies and promptly reporting any concerns
7. Being prepared to take charge of children and staff in the case of emergencies in line with our Critical Incident Plan
Administration and management
8. Have a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Childcare App such as Little Vista or Childpath
9. Have a working knowledge of government childcare platforms such as Pobal, Early Years Hive
10. Be familiar with government childcare and early education schemes such as ECCE and NCS
11. Managing budgets, maintaining accounts and ensuring financial stability
12. Keeping accurate records required by regulatory bodies, which are easily accessible and retrieved
13. Representing the centre during inspections by Tusla, Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety
Communication and Relationships
14. Developing positive relationships with parents and carers
15. Developing positive working relationships with team members
16. Co-ordinating recruitment, induction, appraisal and training for staff
Continuous Improvement
17. Remaining open to, and offering, suggestions for improvement in any aspect of the service
18. Revising and updating existing policies and devising and implementing new policies
The successful candidate must have
Personal Specifications
Minimum Level 7 Childcare Qualification
At least 3 years experience in a similar role
Ability to lead a team
Kindness and empathy
Good communication skills with children, parents and other team members
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant childcare legislation and regulations
All candidates will be subject to Garda Vetting.
Hours
9 am to 5pm, Monday to Friday,
Salary
20 to25 euro ph, DOQAE
