Associate Manager, Additive
Location: Stryker Anngrove, Carrigtwohill
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Associate Manager to lead and support our New Product Introduction (NPI) programs within the Joint Replacement (JR) additive business unit.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about engineering and people development, providing the chance to help shape the strategic direction of joint replacement programs for hip and knee products while managing and growing a talented team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and mentor team members to deliver on program goals aligned with strategic objectives.
* Promote a learning culture, guiding professional development to strengthen skills that support the team and Advanced Operations
* Provide direction and leadership to the team, particularly in complex or challenging situations.
* Effectively remove obstacles, allocate resources, and work across functions to support issue resolution and drive project progress.
* Partner with HR in identifying, acquiring top talent while developing and retaining talent within the team.
* Lead initiatives to ensure successful NPI launches by partnering closely with the operations team.
* Focus on aligning strategic priorities to deliver efficient, high-quality New Product Introduction processes that meet both regulatory and market demands.
* Develop and implement governance frameworks to monitor NPI program performance.
* Leverage data-driven insights to evaluate program success, promote continuous improvement, and drive operational efficiency through effective cross-functional partnerships.
* Be an effective partner across all functions within divisional and Stryker manufacturing organisations to deliver associated new products in line with divisional pipelines.
* Provide clear direction on projects and define prioritisations to the project management team for all product launches.
* Succesfully determine project scope, scale, resource & financial requirements etc. for each new product.
* Accountable for capital & expense budgets.
* Critically assess new product charters & financial plans to extrapolate key deliverables such as standard cost and launch requirements.
* Identify, hire and manage contract SMEs to validate and release new process / equipment to production in line with Stryker systems & specifications.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement through initiatives that streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and achieve cost savings.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in technical or project management roles within industries such as medical device, automotive, or aerospace.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and presentation skills essential.
* Demonstrated leadership, project management and engineering experience in new product introduction in a regulated environment preferred.
* Strong analytical, logical, and strategic thinking skills to navigate complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions.
* Proficiency in GD&T, process mapping, statistical methods, and process/product validation is highly beneficial.
