Regulatory Role
Coimisiún na Meán regulate broadcasters and video-on-demand providers in Ireland. They make and enforce codes and rules on matters such as balance in news, protecting children from age-inappropriate material, and promoting gender balance.
Media Support
Coimisiún na Meán support the wider media sector by running funding schemes to develop content that reflects and shapes Irish society, including Irish-language content. They also promote media literacy and take initiatives related to sustainability, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
About the Role
The Head of Procurement is responsible for managing Coimisiún na Meán's procurement processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with public sector requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute procurement strategies to support the organisation's objectives.
* Ensure appropriate governance and controls are in place for procurement.
* Implement best practices throughout procurement processes.
* Maintain an up-to-date contracts register.
* Monitor and evaluate supplier performance.
* Oversee the management of Coimisiún na Meán's procurement policies and procedures.
* Provide procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
* Work cross-functionally to oversee the management of Coimisiún na Meán's procurement processes and systems.
* Prepare regular reports and present analysis on procurement activities and vendor performance.
Essential Criteria:
* Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, including EU procurement law and public procurement guidelines.
* Experience delivering best practice procurement processes.
* Experience managing internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and project tools.
* Experience working within a relevant position in a public sector or semi-state organisation.
Desirable Criteria:
* People management experience.
* Experience managing change and continuous improvement practices.
* Project management certification.
