About the Role:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team to support the delivery of a Mechanical Integrity (MI) program and Condition-Based Monitoring projects for a multinational client in Cork.
The successful candidate will work closely with the existing Senior MI Engineer onsite to develop and implement an end-to-end MI program.
This position is open to Junior or Intermediate Mechanical Engineers (Minimum 1-3 Years) who want to apply their skills in a dynamic environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* SUPPORT THE MECHANICAL INTEGRITY PROGRAM: Support the development and implementation of the site's Mechanical Integrity (MI) program to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
* INSPECTION PLANNING: Develop, plan, schedule, and coordinate inspections for critical systems and equipment, including pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, and safety devices, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up.
* RISK-BASED MAINTENANCE STRATEGIES: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk-based maintenance strategies, prioritizing equipment and systems based on safety, environmental, and business implications.
* DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, repairs, and equipment histories in the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as SAP.
* COMPLIANCE ASSURANCE: Ensure all MI-related activities meet Irish and European applicable regulations, while aligning with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and site-specific requirements.
* ASSET INTEGRITY ASSESSMENTS: Perform regular condition assessments of critical equipment to evaluate defects, corrosion, and overall reliability, providing recommendations for repair or replacement.
* COLLABORATE WITH RELIABILITY TEAMS: Work closely with reliability engineers to integrate mechanical integrity data into broader reliability programs, supporting efforts to improve equipment lifespan and performance.
* SUPPORT ENGINEERING PROJECTS: Review new projects and modifications to ensure equipment and systems meet MI standards, providing guidance on what equipment is subject to statutory inspections and ensure critical information is gathered.
* TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING: Provide training to maintenance and operational teams on mechanical integrity requirements, inspection techniques, and best practices.

* OPTIMIZE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS: Support PM optimization to align maintenance activities with equipment requirements, adjusting frequencies based on past performance, and integrating condition-based and predictive maintenance where appropriate.
* TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP: Provide guidance and training to maintenance and operational teams to foster a culture of reliability and continuous improvement across the organization.
Requirements:
* A relevant 3rd-level qualification in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* A minimum of 1-3 years of industrial experience (preference in pharma/bio-pharmaceutical industry).
* A strong background in reliability, maintenance, and asset management.
* Proficiency with SAP, SI445, and related regulatory standards advantageous.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
* Effective organizational and communication skills.
* The ability to balance multiple priorities.
Location:
The candidate will be expected to be site-based at client site in Cork.
1 day per week remote-working option after 3 months.
Rate:
This is a contract role, 12 months with likelihood of further extension. €40-50/hour (DOE).
