Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (Basic Grade) - Adults Services
35 hours per week / Permanent Contract
Based in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare with some Remote Working
Kare are recruiting for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Adult Clinical Support Team. Based just 35 minutes from Dublin. We are seeking candidates who have a passion for, and a commitment to working with adults with intellectual disabilities, who are skilled and knowledgeable about positive mental health wellbeing, person centred work, individualised planning and giving voice to an individual's goals and vision.
This post may be of particular interest to those who are newly qualified or those looking to gain experience working in a disability setting. Support, supervision and mentorship will be provided to the successful candidate with generous opportunities for CPD and training.
Duties include.
Provide a psychology service to meet the identified and emerging needs of adults who utilise Kare services.
Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team structure
Develop and collate professional reports as required in accordance with high professional standards.
To consult in family meetings, strategy meetings and case reviews as required
To ensure effective maintenance of client records in line with legislation and policy guidelines
Timely updating of statistical records, including use of electronic database
Provide professional consultation, education, guidance, and support to others as appropriate.
Participate in or undertake research as required.
Essential Criteria:
Hold a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject:
AND
have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, or Counselling Psychology or an equivalent qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
We will consider applicants with a post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Educational Psychology if they can demonstrate significant experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
Demonstrate competence in working with adults with intellectual disabilities - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist.
Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
Full Clean Licence - access to own vehicle
Experience in research/evaluation, working as part of an MDT and psychometric measurements would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and satisfactory Garda Vetting and overseas police vetting, where applicable. Salary is paid in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales Clinical/Counselling Psychologist €60,159 - €102,990. A detailed Job Description is available on request.
