As trustee of these premises, the RCB handles queries from parish committees (select vestries) responsible for managing premises locally, as well as approaches from outside parishes. The RCB also holds bishops’ residences, some national schools and various other premises held in trust for the Church of Ireland. The RCB has an in-house Legal Department which undertakes the conveyancing for sales, purchases and other transactions involving premises in both jurisdictions. The Legal Department is responsible for advising on property queries and drawing up agreements for the use and occupation of premises by third parties.
