DescriptionReporting directly to the Organisational Risk Senior Manager, the Risk Technical Manager will support the delivery of an effective risk and resilience model and lead a team which is focused on all aspects of risk management assurance oversight across Uisce Éireann.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and drive the Uisce Éireann ORR management agenda taking into consideration all aspects of risk, including strategic, operational, IT, infrastructural, reputational, health and safety etc
Maintain and continuously improve the overall risk management process for Uisce Éireann based on the risk management framework
Working with the wider organisation, complete horizon scanning and regular risk assessments. Provide tools and frameworks to the first line of defence to appropriately identify, describe, rate and manage the risks affecting the business. These tools includes the Uisce Eireann risk assessment methodology and taxonomy and evaluating the previous handling of risks
Work with the business to monitor profile against risk appetite and provide appropriate challenge with respect of risk assessments and mitigations and complete necessary risk reports on an on-going basis
Supervise the development and on-going monitoring of an effective compliance environment and keep up to date with legislation and leading practice
Cooperate with partners in other assurance and compliance teams (Integrated Assurance, Internal Audit) to deliver coordinated training and engagement initiatives and an integrated 2nd line approach
Oversee the updating of Uisce Éireann’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Policy and associated documents
Work with the wider risk team and key stakeholders throughout the business to deliver on Uisce Éireann’s Enterprise Risk Strategy initiatives
Work to develop the Risk Champion Network and help to drive a risk awareness and proactive risk culture into all levels of the business
Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. risk management networks)
Ensure that all relevant policies, processes and procedures are effectively maintained and updated within the Risk team
Manage issues within the team and act as a point of escalation for management within the function
Manage and conduct the performance management and development processes for Risk Management Analysts and Leads, as required
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
A minimum of 7 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
Demonstrated leadership ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff
Experience managing a large team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
Experience of supporting policies, systems and controls and driving the implementation of progressive policies.
You will have a proven track record in leadership, change & transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environment
Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
