Accounting Officer – Galway – Onsite My client, a Salthill based business, provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the achievements of an organisation that is fast-paced, innovative and operates in an equal, diverse and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and CEO and will work with the Financial Accountant.
This role is fully onsite and comes with a competitive salary package.
Responsibilities:

Payment Management:
Collect, input, and track all inward payments.
Manage aged debtor reports, discounts, refunds, balances, statements, and ensure accurate recording in CRM and accounting systems.
Bank Balancing and Reconciliation:
Perform regular bank balancing and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
Supplier and Invoice Management:
Handle all supplier invoices, rents, contracts, credit cards, and PRSA submissions.
Upload relevant data to the CRM, accounting software, and on secure hard drives as per protocols.
Accounting Integrity:
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all accounting information, journal and ledger entries for reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
Conduct thorough analyses of income, costs, cash flow, budgets, and forecast data to meet professional standards.
Work Flexibility:
Respond to work demands with flexibility and deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.
Suggest and implement approved changes for process improvement.
Financial Analysis:
Analyse and interpret various types of financial data to support informed decision-making
Business Performance Support:
Assist with requests on business performance evaluation.
Continually assess and refine planning, budgeting, and sustainable targets and assumptions.
Strategic Contribution:
Approach the accounting function as a strategic driver for the company's direction and profitability.
Provide insights and recommendations that support sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
Perform any other tasks or duties as required, outside the outlined responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS Qualifications:
Part-qualified or accounting technician qualification or other similar or related experience in a comparable role
Technical and Digital Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Sage or similar accounting software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and an innovative mindset is essential
Organisational Skills:
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to produce accurate and comprehensive financial reports.
Strong business acumen is a must and an ability to communicate detail and its alignment to financial reporting and decision making.
Soft Skills:
