We are presently recruiting an EHS Manager for our clients, a Manufacturing company in Killarney, County Kerry. You will be tasked with managing environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting risk assessments, implementing safety policies, and training employees to maintain a safe workplace and minimize environmental impact. You will also investigate accidents and manage corrective actions.
Responsibilities
1. Manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities, including installation projects.
2. Advise on health and safety policies and assist managers and supervisors in implementation.
3. Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness, excellence, and continuous improvement.
4. Develop and coordinate the EHS team.
5. Lead the development of EHS systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
6. Drive continual improvement of EHS performance and processes.
7. Develop and manage annual EHS improvement plans with departmental teams.
8. Conduct internal EHS audits and inspections.
9. Inspect plants and workplaces for health and safety compliance.
10. Organize safety committee meetings and liaise with safety representatives.
11. Update management on new legislation and safety matters.
12. Ensure thorough investigation and reporting of incidents and accidents.
13. Manage EHS documentation and update the Integrated Management System.
14. Liaise with insurance providers and manage related actions.
15. Publish safety instructions on company notice boards.
Qualifications and Experiences:
1. 3rd level qualification in Health & Safety and/or Environmental Science or a related discipline.
2. Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification would also be an advantage.
3. Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Manager in a manufacturing site.
4. CMIOSH or working towards achieving it.
5. Thorough knowledge of Irish and European legislation and ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site.
This is a full-time, permanent position. Salary is open to negotiation and based on experience and qualifications.
