Role Overview
The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that Acetech's products and services meet the highest quality standards. This includes software solutions, telematics control panels, and fleet management systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing quality control processes, conducting audits, analysing data to identify defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS)
Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to quality management protocols.
Collaborate with teams to address nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
Support the documentation and release of processes and audit same.
Product Quality Assurance
Monitor the entire production process for hardware (control panels) and software solutions.
Perform inspections of raw materials, components, and final products to ensure quality standards are met.
Oversee software validation processes, including automated testing systems.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect and analyse quality data to identify trends, defects, or areas for improvement.
Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, anomalies, and corrective actions.
Use root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 8D methodology) to solve quality issues.
Process Improvement
Work with operations and engineering teams to develop and implement process improvements.
Reduce waste and variation in manufacturing processes using lean methodologies.
Enhance the robustness of new product introductions through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Customer & Supplier Collaboration
Address customer complaints by identifying issues and implementing resolutions.
Manage the RMA process
Ensure suppliers meet Acetech's quality standards through audits and evaluations.
Maintain open communication with stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance or engineering roles within an ISO 9001 environment.
Experience with telematics or automotive systems is a strong advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in QA tools such as Six Sigma techniques and lean methodologies.
Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem solving.
Familiarity with software testing processes and tools is highly desirable.
Excellent project management abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
Certifications
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus.
