Site Engineer Pharmaceutical Project Location: Cork, Ireland Client: Top 15 Irish Main Contractor Project Type: Pharmaceutical Project Duration: Ongoing Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Site Engineer to join a leading Irish main contractor for a large-scale pharmaceutical project based in Cork.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a top 15 contractor on a high-profile project in the pharmaceutical sector.
Previous pharmaceutical project experience is not required, making this an ideal opportunity for a Site Engineer looking to expand their expertise in a highly technical environment.
Key Responsibilities: Site Engineering: Assist in the day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project progresses according to the construction programme and technical specifications.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards, complying with the drawings, specifications, and legal requirements.
Surveying and Setting Out: Conduct precise surveying and setting out of construction works on site, ensuring the works are carried out in the correct location and at the correct levels.
Health & Safety: Monitor health and safety compliance on site, ensuring that all site activities adhere to the companys safety policies and legal requirements.
Site Supervision: Assist in supervising subcontractors and labour to ensure that construction activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining high-quality standards.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to the Site Manager and other team members, including the resolution of technical issues and providing engineering solutions to problems that arise on site.
Progress Reporting: Assist in tracking and reporting progress against the programme, ensuring any delays or potential issues are flagged early and addressed promptly.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily site diaries, technical reports, and relevant documentation required for the project.
Coordination: Collaborate with the Project Manager, Site Manager, and other team members to ensure the smooth flow of information and to resolve any site issues.
Material Management: Assist in the monitoring of materials, ensuring that the required materials are delivered to site on time and are in good condition for use.
Key Requirements: Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Site Engineer role within the construction industry, ideally with some exposure to large-scale projects (pharmaceutical or industrial experience is not required).
Qualifications: A relevant degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
A postgraduate qualification in construction or engineering would be an advantage.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, techniques, and materials.
Experience with setting out and surveying is essential.
Health & Safety Awareness: Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices on construction sites.
A proactive approach to ensuring safety standards are met.
IT Skills: Proficient in the use of construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and collaborate effectively with site staff, subcontractors, and the project management team.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
