Data Scientist Role
Job Description
Design, test, and implement highly scalable data solutions to better analyze data collected during product development cycles. Develop models and analyses to mine large volumes of data, extract insights, and explore opportunities for improvements. Build data products, such as data sets, analyses, models, and tools, to drive hypothesis generation and decision-making in partnership with engineering and product management teams. Create actionable metrics and design effective experiments. Communicate insights to engineering and product management teams to drive product decisions with data. Interface with engineering to develop data visualization solutions to extend and support product development. Develop data-driven tools to measure and visualize performance and help validate engineering assumptions.
Responsibilities
Design, test, and implement highly scalable data solutions for product development cycles.
Develop models and analyses to mine large volumes of data, extract insights, and identify opportunities for improvements.
Build data products, including data sets, analyses, models, and tools, to drive hypothesis generation and decision-making.
Create actionable metrics and design effective experiments.
Communicate insights to engineering and product management teams to drive data-based product decisions.
Interface with engineering to develop data visualization solutions for product development.
Develop data-driven tools to measure and visualize performance and validate engineering assumptions.
Essential Skills
Extensive knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau.
Knowledge of analytical tools including R, Jupyter, and Python.
Proficiency in relational database technologies such as Teradata, Splunk, and Hive.
Strong query execution and optimization skills.
Ability to comprehensively understand data elements, sources, and relationships.
Familiarity with multiple platforms, tools, and methodologies in the data management, reporting, and advanced analytics space.
