Job Description:
Our Longford based client is looking for a new Senior Technical Support Scientist to join their team.
Purpose of the Job:
* To provide the necessary technical support to strategic programmes, ensuring the plant meets its customer quality, service, regulatory, financial, and safety goals.
* To provide the necessary technical support to the product manufacturing team, ensuring that production targets are attained.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Maintain ETMS TO DO LIST.
* Conduct business in a manner that will protect human health, safety, and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws, as well as the site's Global and Technical standards.
* Assist in product development/improvement projects, in compliance with Q04 series requirements.
* Ensure the smooth transfer of new products from other sites into the Longford Facility.
* Complete and document investigations per site procedures.
* Design and manage process improvement projects and validations.
* Work in concert with the manufacturing & quality teams to identify, document, investigate, and remedy the cause of product non-conformance in compliance with site CA/PA system requirements.
* Participate in laboratory maintenance programs, including instrument maintenance and calibrations, waste disposal, and ordering of laboratory reagents.
* Present information to other team members and management.
* Assist in training team members and technologists as required.
* Update statistical process control charts and circulate information, highlighting any issues identified.
* Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices are adhered to. Suggest improvements where necessary.
Skills and Education:
* Relevant third-level qualification in a scientific and/or technical field is desired or a relevant combination of education and experience.
* Two years of experience in the development or support of diagnostic assays or relevant post-graduate qualification.
This experience will ensure awareness of the importance of:
* Following procedures.
* Accurate record keeping.
* Basic problem-solving skills.
