Based in the West of Ireland, the business' diagnostics division has undergone some strategic expansion in recent years and has increased the team's size locally. This continued investment will further expand the Galway operation this year.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced R&D Program Manager to support global projects. You will oversee programs through the R&D arc from early conceptual design to industrialisation.
The Role
* Acts as leader for cross-functional project teams: managing activities through the R&D lifecycle working with colleagues across the globe to deliver objectives at each development phase gate.
* Ensure the successful creation and tracking of key milestones for each project working closely with the PMO and development team to set development roadmap aligning to the business agenda and objectives.
* Liaise closely with Operations/Regulatory/R&D and Quality functions ensuring all related deliverables are defined and tracked to completion.
* Translate the business strategy into project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
* Draft the development project timeline and hold the team accountable for meeting critical milestones; highlight opportunities for acceleration; clearly communicate project delays and escalations when required.
* Keep open lines of communication for all Project Plans and changes to project stakeholders.
* Prioritise work and resources to best meet the business unit's priorities.
The Person
* Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and over 7 years of experience in Project Management, specifically overseeing R&D operations.
* A professional certification such as PMP is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated experience in program management of new products through the development life-cycle process.
* Knowledge of the diagnostics industry sector is very advantageous.
* Ability to work in a matrix organization with diverse geographical environments.
* Impactful leadership skills with the ability to resolve issues and breakdowns in a timely and effective manner.
