Job Description:
Circle K are now hiring for the role of Category Manager Lead - Merch & Private Brand. This is a permanent role and based in Circle K Support Office in Dublin 4. Circle K work on a hybrid model of 3 days in office and 2 days from home.
Job Overview: Delivering ambitious Commercial Results and Market Share Growth through executing Local & European strategies for relevant categories. From setting local strategy, concept development, sourcing and executing to achieve the overall business goals and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Directly managing Categories while also leading a team in Merch to deliver expected outcomes.
2. Act as Senior Manager for function when required and seamlessly manage high-level collaboration, presentations and support Market Director as required.
3. Be consumer-focused while supporting site needs.
4. Lead a Team to deliver on Category Sales, Margin, Units, Traffic and Market Share.
5. Spearhead in conjunction with EU strategy the successful performance of Private Brand performance.
6. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure E2E delivery of key metrics.
7. Lead and support Projects as part of Category Agenda’s.
8. Influence Market Share growth and share insights with the wider business.
9. Negotiate and deliver JBP commercial income to the department.
10. Broaden customer offering by sourcing, negotiating and commercializing existing and fresh assortment through existing supply chain.
11. Manage and utilize relationships with supply base.
12. Own the execution of local BU strategy and tactics.
13. Facilitate: Planogram, Floorplan, Sourcing/Supply Chain, Training and Execution in all areas of strategies, tactics and projects for Convenience Categories with stakeholders.
14. Research, develop and pilot new ideas and innovations for local category growth in line with improving Customer Journey.
15. Adopt yearly EU Category/Marketing Plans and develop local category/marketing plans on a BU market level following the European process, structure, and timing; align and secure this category plan with all relevant stakeholders.
16. Report to BU Leadership Team on a regular basis results, plans and initiatives that demonstrate success.
Experience Requirements:
1. Knowledgeable in category management & performance management tools and methods within retail business.
2. Sourcing product through existing suppliers while adding new supply opportunities.
3. A minimum of 5+ years experience working in FMCG & retail or specialized industry.
4. Track Record of innovation and achieving “First Mover” status with successful outcomes.
5. Experience from working with consumer insights, product & brand development.
6. Evidence of procurement and contract negotiations.
7. Experience in product research & development, Supply Chain, product regulations, quality control, HSE.
8. Examples of success in delivering strategic growth plans.
9. Preferred to have Higher relevant education.
10. Degree in Business or relevant area an advantage.
11. Category Management training.
