Job Description:
The Electrical Lead will play a key role in ensuring that documents are reviewed and developed in line with the changing needs of customers regarding Low Carbon Technology adoption in new and existing premises connected to the LV network.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review, redefine, and ensure all LV electrical design standards, policies, and procedures, including understanding, assessing, and accounting for the impact of LCT uptake.
* Lead in the assessment, consideration, and analysis of existing or emergent data sets relevant to LV design.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders in Asset Management, Commercial, and Smart Metering teams to introduce changes to LV design standards, policies, and procedures.
* Manage the updating of documents through the internal document management system and process.
* Develop new/updated design tools and processes that support the design standards.
* Support local design team members with non-standard LV SI designs.
* Manage 3rd party consultants/contractors required to provide specialist advice related to LV design standards.
* Represent the company in LV standards/policy on international utility working groups.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders in the industry.
* Complete technical articles, reports, and presentations at external webinars and seminars.
Experience and Qualifications:
* A primary degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
* 8+ years relevant work experience.
* Knowledge and experience of distribution system asset management, utility company standards, particularly for MV/LV systems.
* Highly skilled in creating technical documentation, report writing, and communication to varied audiences.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
* Experience providing on-the-job training and knowledge sharing with junior/new team members.
* Ability to delegate and assign work to others.
* Self-motivated with a track record of delivering work and/or projects.
* Familiarity with using key engineering/business systems and tools.
Desirable:
* A high-level understanding of the electrical supply business and commercial operating model.
* Experience with document management systems and processes.
* Knowledge of CRU, TSO, and industry policies.
* Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
* Experience in risk management.
