We ensure projects are completed predictably and that facilities are fully operational upon handover.As a Global Senior Technical Manager-Mechanical/HVAC, you will be a key member of our Quality & Commissioning team, leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills to oversee mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning/handover phases. You will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams to deliver consistent, high-quality results for our customers.Experience in a matrix organization and working across global regions (EMEA, APAC, AMER) is preferred.Role DescriptionCommissioning & Project ExecutionLead and support mechanical/HVAC commissioning teams across global projects, ensuring a standardized and efficient approach.Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in mission-critical mechanical/HVAC systems commissioning and operations.Interpret design documentation to ensure facilities operate within the required parameters.Define scope and execution plans, ensuring adherence to best practices.Ensure rigorous compliance with safety protocols (PTW, SSOW, LOTO, etc.).Develop completion strategies (L0-L6) from planning through handover.Oversee project setup, scheduling, and tag forecasting to align with best practices.Provide guidance and accountability for all stakeholders in the commissioning process.Technical Leadership & Quality ManagementDevelop and implement commissioning strategies based on lean management principles, streamlining processes and eliminating inefficiencies.Organize technical validation workshops to facilitate system completion planning.Manage construction completions, pre-commissioning strategies, and equipment/system startup sequences.Audit commissioning resource loading and ensure project teams have the required competencies.Work closely with QA/QC teams to align commissioning with quality standards.Leverage data-driven decision-making to monitor project health and risks.Stakeholder & Documentation ManagementEstablish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal teams, clients, contractors, and vendors.Manage the documentation process, ensuring specifications, technical submittals, and commissioning records are meticulously maintained.Ensure all project deliverables align with customer expectations and are in place before commissioning begins.Effectively communicate commissioning expectations and performance accountability to all project stakeholders.Interpersonal & Leadership SkillsStrong leadership with experience managing high-performing teams.Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and matrix organizations.Client-focused mindset with experience in stakeholder management.Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-driven attitude.Excellent communication skills (English required, additional languages beneficial).Commercially astute with the ability to build and maintain relationships under project pressures.Ability to mentor and develop teams, fostering a culture of excellence.Mechanical System/HVAC ExpertiseCandidates must have hands-on experience with the installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial/commercial mechanical and piping systems, including:Key Systems Expertise:HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF)Fuel transfer systems, heat pumps, boilers, district heatingPumping systems, variable speed drivesChiller systems (air & water), cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH systemsFire protection systems (sprinkler, wet fire, LSS)Process piping and general mechanical completionBuilding Management Systems (BMS/BAS), PLC systemsLoad testing, system integration, sequence of operation executionQA/QC knowledge and in-progress inspection managementPre-commissioning, loop testing, and validation techniquesQualifications & ExperienceRequired:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related field).10+ years of hands-on commissioning and commissioning management experience.Expertise in MEP systems commissioning and complex electrical/mechanical system interfaces.Experience in data centers, power, oil & gas, or pharmaceutical industries.Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record in managing teams and driving results.Project Management Certification (or equivalent experience in project planning and execution).Preferred:Master’s degree in engineering or project management.Professional Engineer (PE) certification.Key RelationshipsCommissioning TeamsExecutive LeadershipRegional Delivery TeamsEngineering & Design TeamsProject Directors & ClientsQuality & Safety TeamsWhy This Role?This is an opportunity to lead global commissioning efforts for mission-critical projects, working with top-tier teams and clients.
