Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) was opened in 2007 at a cost of €80 million and as well as delivering 6,446 babies in 2023 is also a national Gynaecology Cancer Centre and leading centre in Research and Innovation.

Currently, theatre lists are currently run in one Gynaecology theatre 1 five days per week and theatre 2 fours days a week, shared amongst consultants in the Gynaecology service.
