Job Description
We are seeking an Accountant to cover a maternity contract. The role will report directly into the Accounts Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing monthly accounts from initiation to sign-off, focusing on profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
* Prepare Monthly Accruals/Prepayment/Stock Journals.
* Reconcile Balance Sheets and perform Nominal Analysis.
* Compile quarterly accounting information, including Cost Centre/Departmental Reporting.
* Maintain compliance with corporate policies regarding Cash Management.
* Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations across various depots.
* Prepare and file VAT3/VAT RTD/Intra Stat and other statutory returns.
* Generate monthly cash reports.
* Develop budgets and forecasts.
* Work individually and collaboratively to optimize the use of finance-related IT systems, leveraging ERP and consolidation systems to their full potential.
* Perform other ad hoc duties and projects as needed.
Requirements:
* Hold a qualified accountant position with at least 3 years of experience.
* Possess audit experience.
* Proficient in using MS Excel and Word.
* Able to organize work effectively and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrate analytical and communication skills.
* Show excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Driven and ambitious.
* Possess own transportation.
