We are presently recruiting for a Health and Safety officer for our clients in Tralee, County Kerry. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, provide safety training, and promote a safe working environment to prevent accidents and injuries among workers.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards, ensuring all safety measures are in place and adhered to.
3. Provide health and safety training and inductions for new and existing staff, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for preventive measures.
5. Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE).
6. Liaise with site management, contractors, and regulatory authorities to coordinate health and safety initiatives.
7. Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, incidents, and inspections.
8. Stay updated with new legislation and best practices, incorporating changes into the safety management system.
Experiences and qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
2. Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH).
3. In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures.
4. 3+ years’ experience in a health and safety role, preferably in construction or a similar industry.
Salary is in the region of €50 – 55,000. This position is based on one of the biggest projects ever to commence in Kerry. This is a full-time position with a minimum of three years’ work in Tralee, County Kerry.
